about the project

A study recommended by the Fargo-Moorhead Downtown Framework Plan that there be a conversion of the one-way street pairs. This reflected the nationwide trend since the 1990’s. The design of NP Ave was to be designed and built as the example of the Downtown Streetscape Standard converting the one way into the two way street.

The public or sidewalk area is the public right of way from the lot line to back of the curb. This was to be composed of the Frontage Zone, Pedestrian Zone, Furniture Zone, and the Enhancement Zone. The Bike Lane, Parking/Buffer and Travel Lanes were the curb to curb street area. Streetscape Elements included lighting, trees and plantings, planter areas, tree grates, street furniture, and identifier elements. Work described in this outline was performed by Craig Larson while employed at a previous firm.
